The Caribbean Premier League clash between the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons and the St Lucia Kings ended in disappointment on Saturday night after persistent rain forced the match at North Sound to be abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Despite several pitch inspections, damp areas in the good-length regions prevented play from starting. Fans waited for over three hours before the match was officially called off at 10:08 p.m., with the captains shaking hands as nature prevailed.

The no-result meant both sides shared the points. The Falcons, however, benefitted by moving to the top of the standings, while the Kings remain further down the table.

The washout brought a damp close to the weekend’s fixtures, following an action-packed encounter earlier in the day between the Trinbago Knight Riders and St Kitts & Nevis Patriots.

Attention now shifts to the coming fixtures, with teams hoping for clearer skies as the tournament continues in Antigua.
