The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons secured a six-wicket victory over the Barbados Royals in Match 3 of the Caribbean Premier League on Friday.
Chasing 152, the Falcons reached their target with two balls to spare, finishing on 152 for four in 19.4 overs. Karima Gore was named Player of the Match for his unbeaten 64 from 53 balls, anchoring the innings after an early stumble.
Rahkeem Cornwall fell cheaply for 10, but wicketkeeper Jewel Andrew added stability with a brisk 28 off 25 deliveries. Gore then took control, striking three sixes and two boundaries, before receiving late support from Shakib Al Hasan (13) and captain Imad Wasim, who chipped in with 16.
Earlier, the Royals had posted 151 for six from their 20 overs, with the Falcons’ bowlers keeping a tight grip in the latter stages. Mujeeb Ur Rahman was the pick of the Royals’ attack in response, conceding just 23 runs from his four overs and claiming one wicket. Jomel Warrican also impressed, finishing with figures of one for 20.
Despite those efforts, the Falcons kept their composure to clinch the win, handing the Royals their first defeat of the tournament.
