All Saints West MP Anthony Smith has rejected Harold Lovell’s claims that he was offered $6 million to leave the UPP, calling them “baseless, malicious, and the product of a bitter man grasping for relevance.”

Smith said he never had such a conversation with Lovell and “categorically deny[ed] ever receiving a cent—far less $6 million—from the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party or anyone connected to them.”

He challenged Lovell to produce evidence to support his allegation or face legal consequences, confirming he will seek redress against Lovell and any media house that carried the remarks.

Smith accused the former UPP leader of trying to poison the political climate with smear tactics, saying, “The people of Antigua and Barbuda deserve leaders who bring ideas and solutions, not gossip and slander.”
