Beachgoers are being urged to remain vigilant after a shark was reportedly spotted close to shore at Ffryes Beach on Sunday.
Witnesses said the shark was seen swimming near the shoreline, raising concern among swimmers. The sighting follows a recent shark attack in which a fisherman from Urlings was seriously injured while at sea and is continuing to recover.
Authorities are advising swimmers, snorkelers and other water users to remain alert, exercise caution and avoid entering the water if sharks or unusual marine activity are observed nearby.
