A mother is appealing for public assistance after her 12-year-old daughter was reportedly attacked and robbed while walking to a supermarket in Golden Grove Extension.

The mother said a man allegedly pinned the child against a fence around 2 p.m. before stealing an 18-karat gold double-plated necklace with the nameplate “YALISSA.”

She said the child suffered neck injuries, including swelling and scrapes, and has been left traumatized.
