Antigua — One Antigua Public Utilities Authority linesman has died, while another was injured and flown to Martinique by air ambulance, an APUA official said Wednesday.
Electricity Business Unit Manager Andre Mathias disclosed the incidents during an APUA news conference.
“We had a death — one of our young linesmen who passed a couple of days ago,” Mathias said, extending condolences to the worker’s family.
Mathias said the second linesman, identified only as Walter and known as “Paulo,” was transported to Martinique for medical treatment.
He did not provide details about the circumstances surrounding either incident or an update on the injured linesman’s condition.
