A reclassification exercise covering civil servants in Antigua and Barbuda is currently underway, Prime Minister Gaston Browne has confirmed.

Browne provided the update during the Browne and Browne Show after a listener asked when regular government employees would receive a reclassification similar to the exercise conducted for teachers last year.

“That is currently in train,” Browne responded.

The prime minister said he had sought information on when the process would be completed but could not provide a timetable.

No details were given about the categories of public-sector workers covered, possible salary adjustments or when any changes would take effect.

Further information is expected once the review advances and a completion date is established.
