Antiguan singer-songwriter Drastic has announced that he has received five nominations at the So Arise Music Awards, earning recognition across several musical categories.
The artist, whose real name is Art Philip, is nominated for
Best Dancehall, Best Reggae, Groovy Soca, Best Music Video and Songwriter of the Year
.
Drastic announced the nominations on social media Tuesday, describing himself as honoured to be competing in five categories and calling on supporters to cast their votes.
“I need your support! Each category has a separate ballot, so please use the link below and cast your vote in all five categories,” he wrote.
Voting is being conducted separately for each category and is scheduled to close on
September 25
.
The nominations add to Drastic’s career as a multi-genre performer and songwriter. His official website describes him as an award-winning singer and two-time Grammy-nominated songwriter, with music spanning reggae, soca, hip-hop, pop and other genres.
Drastic, who hails from Antigua and Barbuda, has previously worked with a number of regional and international performers and has built a catalogue that includes the popular “Sweet Antigua.”
So Arise Music International, meanwhile, is preparing for its 2026 Antigua Barbuda Global Music & Media Awards activities in November, including the Island Groove Awards for local artists.
