Two women who were jointly charged with stealing clothing valued at EC$4,405 from a boutique in St. John’s have pleaded guilty and were sentenced to eleven days’ imprisonment.

The convicted women, 25-year-old Cleo Lemonious of Cooks Hill and 29-year-old Latoya Pilliner of Gray Hill, reappeared at the St. John’s Magistrates’ Court on Friday, October 23, where they both entered guilty pleas to the charge of larceny.

The court subsequently sentenced each woman to eleven days at His Majesty’s Prison, taking into consideration the time they had already spent on remand.

The charges stemmed from the theft of several articles of clothing from Hampton Boutique, located at the intersection of Market and Redcliffe Streets in St. Johns, earlier this month.

Following the court proceedings on Friday, both women were handed over to the Immigration Department.
