A woman charged with causing the death of 18-year-old Keane Gregoire in a crash on All Saints Road is scheduled to stand trial on March 1, 2027.
La-Shanti Cooper appeared in the High Court on Monday ahead of the trial, which has faced several delays. She pleaded not guilty to causing death by dangerous driving in June.
Gregoire, of Nut Grove, was a student at the Antigua & Barbuda Institute of Continuing Education.
According to police reports, he was a passenger in a Toyota BB travelling near the John I. Martin Race Track on May 18, 2023, when the vehicle crashed.
Police allege Cooper, who was 19 at the time, was driving at high speed when she lost control. The car reportedly skidded off the road, struck a column and was thrown to the opposite side.
Gregoire suffered multiple injuries and was taken to hospital, where he died the following day.
Cooper reportedly denied being the driver immediately after the crash, claiming the person behind the wheel had fled. She was charged following a police investigation.
