A High Court judge has sentenced a 49-year-old man to 15 years in prison for raping a 12-year-old girl and a further 15 months for indecent assault.

The terms will run concurrently, with time on remand deducted, according to Wadadli Case Files.

He was found guilty in September of assaulting the child at his girlfriend’s home in December 2021.

The victim, who testified virtually from overseas, said he entered her room as she slept and later attacked her in a bathroom.
