St. John’s, Antigua – Community First Cooperative Credit Union proudly visited The Victory Centre this week, continuing its longstanding commitment to community development with a heartfelt donation of $15,000 to support the school’s work with children who have special needs.

Located in the heart of Antigua, The Victory Centre is a beacon of hope and progress for children with learning and developmental challenges. The school provides a safe, nurturing environment where students receive personalized attention, therapy, and alternative learning support tailored to their unique abilities. From speech therapy and occupational support to adaptive academic instruction, The Victory Centre is transforming lives and giving every child the opportunity to thrive.

The visit was more than a donation—it was a day of joy, connection, and shared experiences. Team members from Community First spent time engaging directly with the children through a variety of fun and interactive activities. From spirited games and storytelling sessions to one-on-one conversations and laughter-filled moments, the day was filled with warmth and compassion. The visit concluded with a shared lunch, where everyone gathered in celebration of community and inclusion.

“At Community First, we believe in the power of community and the importance of uplifting every member of society, especially our most vulnerable,” said Jime Hunte, Marketing & Business Development Officer. “The Victory Centre plays a vital role in giving children with special needs the care and attention they deserve. We are proud to support their mission and spend meaningful time with such inspiring students and staff.”

The $15,000 donation will go toward enhancing classroom resources, therapy services, and staff training—furthering the school’s goal of delivering holistic and impactful education to every child.

Community First extends its deepest gratitude to The Victory Centre for their tireless work and for welcoming the team so warmly. The Credit Union remains committed to supporting education, inclusivity, and the betterment of all Antiguans and Barbudans.
