As of 2 p.m. on August 3, forecasters are monitoring three tropical systems in the Atlantic. The most prominent, #AL95, located offshore the Carolinas, has a high likelihood of developing into a tropical storm by Monday as it moves away from the U.S. coastline. Two other systems also show potential for development later this week.

A tropical wave is forecast to move off the west coast of Africa by late Monday. Thereafter, some gradual development of the wave is possible, and a tropical depression could form late this week while it moves generally west-northwestward across the central tropical Atlantic.
