A memorial service will be held on 17 August for 15-year-old Achazia James, whose killing last year shocked Antigua and Barbuda.

The ceremony will take place at Restoration Ministries in Cooks Hill, where relatives, friends and community members will gather to honour her life.

Achazia’s body was discovered on Runaway Beach on 18 August 2024, with multiple chop wounds and one hand severed. No one has been charged.

The Princess Margaret School student is remembered as a vibrant and caring young woman with a promising future.
