A Tropical Cyclone Alert remains in effect for the Leeward Islands and the British Virgin Islands, but weather officials say no watches or warnings are required at this time.

The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services noted, however, that this status could change later today as forecasters continue to monitor the system’s development.

Residents are being encouraged to stay tuned to official updates and remain prepared should conditions warrant an escalation of the alert.
