A new generation of political leadership is emerging in Antigua and Barbuda, as Hon. Anthony Smith, representing All Saints West, calls for a shift away from traditional partisan politics.

In a statement released via social media, Mr. Smith said that both he and his contemporaries are rejecting “blind loyalty, toxic divisions, or political games” in favour of tangible results and societal progress.

“Old school politics is dead! My focus has always been and will always be on people,” he stated, highlighting a commitment to prioritising community needs over party interests.

The politician’s campaign message has been accompanied by the hashtag **#WeStillLegitWithSmith**, signalling a direct appeal to younger voters and those disillusioned with conventional political practices.

Political analysts suggest that Mr. Smith’s approach reflects a broader trend in the Caribbean, where voters are increasingly demanding accountability, transparency, and measurable outcomes from elected officials.

All Saints West has historically been a contested constituency, and Mr. Smith’s emphasis on results-driven leadership may play a key role in shaping voter sentiment ahead of upcoming elections.
