The Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda has expressed its support for the continued development of 21-year-old Antiguan artist

following a presentation of her CHOGM 2026-inspired artwork during Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting.
Pimentel was selected and challenged by the CHOGM 2026 Outreach Committee to create a piece of art that would capture the spirit of Antigua and Barbuda’s hosting of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2026. Her completed masterpiece brings together elements of Antigua and Barbuda’s landscape, culture and identity while highlighting the significance of the country hosting this major international event.
Following the presentation, Pimentel explained the concept behind the artwork and the inspiration that guided its creation. Members of Cabinet expressed their appreciation for the work and recognized the opportunity to further support the young artist as part of broader efforts to encourage Antiguan talent and creativity.

welcomed the initiative and expressed his appreciation for Pimentel’s contribution to the national CHOGM effort.
Prime Minister Gaston Browne said:
“Kimberly’s work is a wonderful example of the talent and creativity that exists among our young people. As Antigua and Barbuda prepares to welcome the Commonwealth, it is important that our young people see themselves as part of this historic occasion. We are pleased to support efforts that give talented young Antiguans opportunities to contribute and to showcase what our country has to offer.”
CHOGM 2026 Outreach Lead and Public Relations Officer

said the initiative reflects the Outreach Committee’s commitment to engaging citizens through diverse platforms and ensuring that the CHOGM message reaches people across different fields, communities and areas of interest.
Anthony said:
“We recognized that our outreach efforts must reach people in different fields, communities and creative spaces. I felt it was fitting to challenge Kimberly to use her artistic talent to help us ramp up our outreach efforts and create another avenue through which people can connect with CHOGM 2026. Her work allows us to showcase the talent of a young Antiguan while telling a uniquely Antiguan story as we prepare to welcome the Commonwealth.”
Pimentel expressed her gratitude for the opportunity and the support being extended to her by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda.

“I am sincerely honoured and grateful to the Prime Minister and Cabinet for recognizing my work and for their decision to support me as a young Antiguan artist. Their support is an incredible encouragement and reinforces the importance of creating opportunities for young people to develop and share their talents. I am also grateful to Minister Greene for his encouragement and to Outreach Lead Briana Anthony for giving me this challenge and the opportunity to use my art to help ramp up the CHOGM 2026 outreach efforts. To have my work become part of Antigua and Barbuda’s CHOGM 2026 journey is a tremendous privilege, and I am excited to continue growing as an artist and to see where this opportunity leads.”
The artwork will form part of the wider CHOGM 2026 public-awareness and outreach efforts and will be displayed at strategic locations across Antigua and Barbuda, providing residents and visitors with opportunities to view and engage with the piece. The initiative is intended to bring CHOGM 2026 into public spaces in a creative and accessible way, while showcasing the talent of a young Antiguan artist and highlighting the country’s culture, identity and creativity.
