Shanice Mulin, owner and CEO of local craft business Shan and Mike Enterprise, has presented handmade pencil-shaped key chains to the hardworking staff of Bendals Primary School as a token of appreciation for their dedication to students and the wider school community.
Mulin said the gesture reflects her belief that appreciation is essential for the individuals who help shape the next generation.
“Appreciation is a must when it comes to individuals moulding the way for the next future generations,” she said.
The staff members were reportedly surprised by the thoughtful gift, which was created by hand and designed in the shape of a pencil—an enduring symbol of learning, creativity, and education.
For Mulin, the presentation was also a personal expression of gratitude. As a parent, she wanted the school’s teachers and support staff to know that their service is seen, valued, and deeply appreciated.
The gesture comes as Bendals Primary School continues to demonstrate resilience following a fire earlier this year that damaged its administrative building, including the staffroom and principal’s office, before students and staff returned to classes.
Shan and Mike Enterprise’s contribution highlights the important role local businesses and parents can play in supporting educators and strengthening school communities.
