The Ministry of Works is deeply saddened by the passing of our colleague, Sherwin Harding, who lost his life in a tragic vehicular accident on Pares Main Road on the evening of Monday, November 2, 2026.

Sherwin served with distinction in the Ministry’s Secretariat and the Project Implementation Management Unit (PIMU), where he held the post of Deputy Community Liaison Officer.

In his role at PIMU, he was a vital link between the Ministry and the communities we serve.

He coordinated meetings with the Traffic Police, organised joint drive-throughs with other government departments, and worked to resolve stakeholder concerns in support of multiple major highway upgrade projects, including the All Saints Road project.

Much of the progress on these projects was made smoother by his dependable work behind the scenes.

As the Minister of Works, Hon. Maria Browne, stated, “This loss is simply too painful for words. Sherwin was an unwavering support especially in times of need.”

We also extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of three-year-old Janae Browne, who also lost her life in the same accident, and we hold her loved ones in our thoughts and prayers.

Our prayers are with Janae’s mother, Rashima Moore, and her brother, Jahcari Browne, as they recover in hospital, and we wish them both a full and speedy recovery.

To Sherwin’s family, friends and colleagues: the entire Ministry of Works family grieves with you. May he rest in eternal peace.
