The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) has expressed sadness over the death of Akeyjah Nibbs, an employee who served as an assistant storekeeper in its Stores Department.
In a memorial statement, APUA said Nibbs died on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026, describing his passing as untimely.
Nibbs joined the authority on Aug. 25, 2025, and had become a valued member of the APUA family during his time with the organization.
“Mr. Nibbs became a valuable member of the APUA family,” the authority said in its tribute.
The minister responsible for information, communication technology, public utilities and energy, along with APUA’s management and staff, extended condolences to Nibbs’ family, colleagues and friends.
The authority said it was prayerfully remembering Nibbs and concluded its tribute with a message of peace.
“May his soul rest eternally in peace,” the statement said.
Nibbs, 24, was identified in earlier reports as the victim of a fatal shooting in Ottos on Nov. 1. His death has also prompted a tribute from the University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus Guild of Students.
