Information and communications technology services accounted for just 0.5% of Antigua and Barbuda’s service exports in 2025, placing the country near the bottom of 10 CARICOM members covered in a CARISTATS analysis.

The analysis, based on International Monetary Fund data accessed through the World Bank, examines earnings from telecommunications, computer and information services sold abroad.

Antigua and Barbuda had the second-lowest share among the countries covered, ahead of Saint Kitts and Nevis at 0.4%. Dominica recorded the highest share among the six Eastern Caribbean countries listed, at 1.8%.

Across those six countries, combined ICT export earnings fell from US$45.6 million in 2015 to US$32.3 million in 2025. The figures provided did not specify how Antigua and Barbuda’s individual earnings changed over that period.

Belize, Trinidad and Tobago, and Suriname recorded the strongest growth in ICT export earnings over the decade.

Belize’s earnings rose from US$8.6 million to US$123.3 million, while Trinidad and Tobago’s increased from US$15.9 million to US$42.1 million. Suriname’s grew from US$10.1 million to US$18.2 million.

CARISTATS described ICT services as an alternative source of foreign earnings for small economies whose service exports are dominated by tourism.

The comparison excludes The Bahamas, Barbados, Guyana, Haiti and Montserrat because no 2025 figures were available. It also cautions that Jamaica’s figure may not have been updated, as it matches the country’s 2019 figure.
