Prime Minister Gaston Browne said Saturday that his son, Gaston Browne III, is prepared to cooperate with a U.S. discovery request related to the Alfa Nero superyacht and provide information, including access to his bank transactions.

Browne said his son’s attorneys had written to the U.S. law firm seeking the information. “What information they want, they can get,” he said, adding that his son would travel to the United States once a date is set.

A federal court in Florida on Sept. 7 authorized subpoenas for documents from Browne III and other people and companies connected to the yacht’s sale. The applicant, Yulia Guryeva-Motlokhov, also sought a deposition of Browne III. The court ordered a status report on the discovery by Nov. 9.

Guryeva-Motlokhov claims an ownership interest in the Alfa Nero and alleges its seizure and sale were unlawful. Antigua sold the yacht in 2024 for a reported $40 million. Her application seeks evidence about the sale, including the yacht’s valuation, negotiations and the handling of the proceeds. Those are allegations in the discovery application, not findings that Browne or his son acted improperly.

Boies Schiller Flexner and attorney Martin De Luca joined the Florida discovery application, saying they sought evidence for their defense in a defamation case Browne brought against them in Antigua. A separate New York discovery application was denied in August, with the judge saying the lawyers would need to file a new case to seek evidence for that defense.
