Two Charged in Connection with Theft of Cooking Gas Cylinders
St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, Friday, 20 February 2026
The police have arrested and jointly charged 29-year-old Marcus Gilpin of Skerritts Pasture and 28-year-old Jabari Lake of Cedar Grove with two (2) counts each of Unlawful Possession of Propane Cooking Gas Cylinders.
The offences allegedly occurred on Monday, 16 February, at Paynters and Skerritts Pasture respectively.
Police officers attached to Langfords Police Station and the Special Services Unit, executed search warrants at both properties, which resulted in the seizure of three (3) 100-pound propane cooking gas cylinders and one (1) 20-pound propane cylinder, along with other items suspected to have been stolen.
Both men were taken into police custody and subsequently charged. They are expected to appear before the Magistrate’s Court at a later date.
Investigations into the matter remain ongoing.
Meanwhile, the police are appealing to members of the public who may have had propane cooking gas cylinders stolen to contact the Langfords Police Station at 462- 562-5730 or the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913. Information can also be provided anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).
