A Trinidadian man accused of cultivating and possessing cannabis in Antigua will return to court on 30 June after his case was postponed.

Andre Solomon, 44, appeared before Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel on Monday, but proceedings were adjourned due to the absence of his lawyer, Andrew O’Kola.

Solomon faces multiple charges following police raids on 30 April and 7 May, which uncovered a total of nearly seven pounds of processed cannabis and 790 plants at properties in Pares, Parham, and Hodges Bay.

He is currently out on $50,000 bail, which includes a $5,000 cash component. Under his bail conditions, Solomon—who holds a visitor’s permit valid until July—must report to St John’s Police Station twice weekly and check in with Immigration every Wednesday.

The case was previously under Magistrate Dexter Wason, who initially granted bail before it was transferred to Emanuel’s court under District B jurisdiction.
