A heartfelt appeal has been issued to members of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda and the wider public, as Police Constable Trevor Giddings remains hospitalized following a shooting incident over the weekend.

The officer, badge number 803, is currently undergoing surgery at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre and urgently requires blood donations to aid in his recovery.

In a message circulated internally and now shared publicly, colleagues have urged all eligible individuals to visit the hospital’s blood bank and donate. The call highlights the gravity of PC Giddings’ condition and the importance of standing in solidarity during critical times.

“As officers, we stand together in service and support—both in the line of duty and in times of personal crisis,” the appeal states. “Your donation could make a significant difference in PC Giddings’ fight for recovery.”

The force described the act of giving blood as not just a civic duty, but a powerful expression of compassion and unity, especially in the face of such adversity.

Members of the public who wish to assist are encouraged to go directly to the Blood Bank at SLBMC. Donors should bring valid identification and indicate that their donation is on behalf of PC Giddings.

The injured officer was shot multiple times early Sunday morning while reportedly responding to an incident in Potters Village. A manhunt for the assailants is ongoing.

Authorities continue to appeal for information from the public as investigations proceed.
