The National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) has ramped up sanitation efforts in St. John’s as Carnival celebrations bring thousands into the city’s streets.

Water truck teams have been deployed to flush roads across key areas, clearing away dust, paint, and debris left in the wake of parades and festivities. The clean-up operation is aimed at maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for both residents and visitors during one of Antigua’s busiest cultural events.

With heavy footfall and vehicular traffic expected to continue, the NSWMA is urging the public to dispose of waste responsibly and cooperate with sanitation workers.

Officials say the flushing initiative is part of a broader effort to uphold cleanliness and public safety throughout the Carnival period.
