Antigua and Barbuda’s reigning Calypso Monarch, Ge’eve, has claimed the Leeward Islands Calypso Monarch crown following Saturday’s finals in Anguilla.
The 19-year-old impressed judges with performances of ‘One Man’ and ‘Daughter Come’, both arranged and produced by Andrew ‘Smilus’ Dorsett of Smilus Global Media.
The competition brought together top calypso performers from across the region in a closely fought contest. Host nation Anguilla’s Queen Roxxy placed second, while Drewzy of St Kitts took third.
Ge’eve’s win adds a regional title to her growing list of accolades, underscoring her rising prominence in the Caribbean calypso scene.
