Antigua and Barbuda is preparing for the 2025/26 cruise season with a new training programme for Destination Ambassadors.

The “Leading for Excellence” workshop, running on 26–27 August, will bring together taxi drivers, vendors, tour operators, traffic wardens and police officers to improve visitor experiences.

Claudine Pohl, a globally recognised cruise tourism consultant, will lead the sessions, which aim to unite stakeholders under the theme “Anchored in Cruise Excellence”.

Elijah James, Marketing and Communications Manager at Antigua Cruise Port, said the programme seeks to ensure that everyone “contributes to creating memorable moments that visitors will cherish long after coming ashore”.

The two-day training will emphasise professionalism, cultural pride and high-quality service. Spaces are limited, and early registration is encouraged via cruiseconnect.org.
