Two teenagers are in police custody after a high-speed chase through St John’s ended in a crash early on Saturday.

Officers said they spotted a car behaving suspiciously near Little Canton Supermarket around 3:50 a.m. and signalled it to stop. The driver sped off, leading police on a pursuit through several streets before colliding with another vehicle on Joseph Lane.

The occupants fled on foot. A 17-year-old passenger was caught nearby, while the 19-year-old driver later surrendered to police with his father.

No injuries were reported. Police say investigations are continuing.
