A United States citizen wanted in the US Virgin Islands in connection with several firearm- and drug-related offenses has been captured in Dominica and returned to the territory to face justice.

The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force identified the man as Jahai Grant, who was apprehended Wednesday, October 28, 2026, during a police operation on the island.

Police confirmed that arrangements were subsequently made for Grant’s repatriation, which took place Friday, October 30.

Grant was wanted by authorities in the US Virgin Islands in connection with multiple alleged offenses involving firearms and drugs. However, police did not disclose the specific charges against him or provide details about the operation that led to his capture.

The police force also did not indicate how long Grant had been in Dominica before his arrest.

In announcing the operation’s success, Dominican police reaffirmed their commitment to working with regional and international law enforcement agencies to combat crime and ensure that wanted individuals are brought before the appropriate authorities.

The force said such cooperation remains essential to strengthening security and addressing criminal activity across borders.

The police account was also published Friday by Dominica News Online, confirming Grant’s return to the US Virgin Islands.
