Queen Camilla is scheduled to join King Charles III in Antigua and Barbuda for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, despite missing his visits to the Bahamas and Guyana.
The Royal Family’s official programme confirms the couple will attend the CHOGM opening ceremony and participate in celebrations marking Antigua and Barbuda’s independence anniversary.
Her absence from the earlier stops has attracted media attention, with InStyle reporting that her decision was linked to a fear of flying. However, the palace’s published itinerary had already identified the Bahamas and Guyana as solo visits for the king and did not give that explanation for the arrangement.
In Antigua and Barbuda, the king and queen are scheduled to attend a church service and the Independence Day Parade at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, as well as engagements at Government House.
Camilla will also undertake separate engagements, including a visit to the American University and an engagement with a local school, according to the palace’s October programme.
The royal tour is scheduled to conclude with their departure from Antigua and Barbuda on Nov. 4.
