Dear Editor,
It is nice to know that the Burning Flames has been honoured by the Gov’t, for their outstanding work & contribution over the years to the nation’s culture & tourist industry.
The renaming of the Potters main road to ” The Burning Flames Highway ” is well deserving. The fantastic four, Onion, Onku, Boo-by and Fox certainly have earned such honor.
Their musical repertoire have made them become a well known spectacle locally, regionally & internationally. They have also become not only a local staple but an asset to our carnival & local culture.
As they are now celebrating their 40th anniversary, I think that the time is now and appropriate for the Burning Flames to give back something tangible to the community from where they come from and developed their talent
During this 40th anniversary, it will be a pleasure if the Burning Flames in collaboration with the Gov’t, construct as a monument, a musical institution which will also host a recording studio, in their name, where the young people of Potters Village and the nearby communities can go & enhance their musical skills & knowledge.
The old Dairy Factory, in my view, may be the ideal location for the institution. The edifice is close to where they once lived and where they were raised as youngsters and simultaneously, where the band was conceived. The area can also be converted to a musical park to attract tourists and alike.
