Harold Lovell, United Progressive Party (UPP) Caretaker for All Saints West, has called out the sitting Member of Parliament and the Browne Administration for their failure to restore public-health services in the constituency – a failure that has now stretched to an alarming 841 days.
On April 23, 2023, the Ministry of Health announced the “temporary” relocation of services from the All Saints Health Centre to the Glanvilles Polyclinic. Residents were promised transportation and assured that repairs were underway.
“Today, almost two and a half years later, there’s still no reopening date – and the people of All Saints West are paying the price,” Lovell says. “Elderly residents, parents with young children, and those without reliable transportation are being forced to travel long distances for basic healthcare. This is not just inconvenient; it is dangerous.”
Lovell stresses that the absence of a clinic in a constituency of this size is unacceptable and represents both the Administration’s failure and neglect by the elected representative.
“The MP for All Saints West has been sleeping on the job,” Lovell charges. “He has failed to stand up for his constituents and hold the Government accountable. It should not take 841 days and counting to restore such an essential service.”
Lovell is demanding immediate action from the Ministry of Health – whether through the reopening of the All Saints Health Clinic, deployment of mobile clinics, or the establishment of a permanent replacement.
“Public-health infrastructure is not a privilege; it is a right,” Lovell points out. “The people of All Saints West deserve answers, a clear timeline, and leadership that actually works for us. Our health cannot wait another day.”
