It has been over two years since the All Saints West public health clinic closed, leaving thousands of residents, from Buckleys to Lightfoot, without local access to basic healthcare.
As parents prepare for the new school year, many are asking: Where can I get my child vaccinated? Too often, the answer is miles away, costing time, wages and causing inconvenience. For the elderly, each trip to Glanvilles or other distant clinics means more strain, more expense, and more health risks.
This is unacceptable in 2025. We must demand answers: Why has the Ministry of Health failed to reopen our clinic? Why is our community treated differently from others with functioning facilities?
I have formally written to the Minister of Health, Hon. Molwyn Joseph, urging immediate action to restore full services to the All Saints West clinic.
In the meantime, the UPP All Saints West Branch is stepping up with a Community Clinic at Buckleys Primary School on Sunday, August 24th, 12 Noon–5 PM.
Free services will include:
• Blood Pressure & Cholesterol Checks/BMI
• Skin Exams
• Cancer Screenings
• Child Screenings
• Mental & Financial Wellness Support
This is a step toward restoring dignity and care in our community. But we will not stop until the All Saints West clinic is reopened and serving our people again.
This is a crisis, and we are taking action to protect the health of every resident. Our health matters. Our seniors’ health matters. Our children’s health matters. The time to act is now.
