The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) has confirmed the arrival of high-pressure motor pumps intended for the Crabbs and Ivan Rodrigues Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plants, in a move aimed at enhancing the nation’s water production capacity.
According to a statement from the APUA Water Business Unit, the new equipment is expected to increase output by approximately 1.1 million imperial gallons per day once installed. This upgrade will bring total daily water production across all RO facilities, groundwater sources, and surface water plants to an estimated 8.2 million imperial gallons.
The announcement comes amid continued public concern over water supply reliability, with APUA reaffirming its commitment to improving water availability across Antigua and Barbuda.
Installation of the pumps is scheduled to begin shortly.
