Antigua, May 25, 2025 – In celebration of Dominican Mother’s Day, the Consulate General of the Dominican Republic in Antigua and Barbuda held a heartfelt gathering that brought together dozens of Dominican women residing in the Caribbean nation.

The event was led by the Honorable Consul General, Mr. Joaquín Díaz López, who expressed his deep appreciation for the dedication, strength, and vital role of Dominican mothers—both within the homeland and throughout the diaspora.

The gathering took place at Pescari restaurant in the Royalton CHIC Antigua hotel, creating a warm and festive ambiance filled with unity and patriotic pride. Attendees, elegantly dressed in spring colors and cocktail attire, enjoyed an evening of affection, music, raffles, and moving tributes to motherhood.

Throughout the celebration, special emphasis was placed on the importance of preserving Dominican traditions and values abroad, while reaffirming the consulate’s commitment to promoting initiatives that strengthen identity and community among Dominicans living overseas.

This event was made possible thanks to the generous support of sponsors such as Ski High Caribbean Services, whose contribution played a vital role in the success of the celebration. The consulate expressed its sincere gratitude to Ski High for its continued dedication to the Dominican community and its unwavering support in strengthening cultural and social ties across the Caribbean.

The evening concluded with expressions of gratitude from the attendees, who described the celebration as a meaningful gesture of connection, respect, and recognition of their role as mothers and cultural ambassadors in a foreign land.
