Students in Antigua are set to receive a boost ahead of the new academic year through the Back 2 School Book Bag Drive 2025. The initiative will distribute free backpacks, stationery, and essential school supplies to children at two primary schools this month.

Hon. Kelvin ‘Shugy’ Simon announced the programme, emphasising the importance of equipping students for success. The distribution events are scheduled for Friday, 15 August, at Urlings Primary School, and Saturday, 16 August, at R. Olivia David Primary in Bolans.

Supplies will be handed out from noon at each location, continuing until all items are exhausted. Children must be present to receive the backpacks and materials.

The drive aims to ease the financial burden on families while encouraging students to start the school year well prepared.
